Note new bingo roster is loaded:

NB: The roster will conclude on the 19 th of December due to delays in the building upgrade permit. It is hoped that the replacement of the windows will take place in the in January. A new roster will be released once time frames around the building work become known.

The Murtoa Big Week End on the 3rd of October will see the return of racing to the Southern Yarri 60 klm circuit. The race is already attracting a lot of interest from riders and will be followed by the Marma Lake Criterium on Sunday the 4th of October. Entry and Race program. July 12 2009:

Horsham Cycling Club Member Sam Witmitz has taken out the 2009 Victorian 100klm Championships held at Port Fairy on Sunday. From a quality field of 78 riders which heralded cycling names such as 2008 runner up Sean Finning (Castlemaine CC), Daniel Braunsteins (Hawthorn CC) and Jonathon Lovelock (Hawthorn CC), both riders recently named in the in the 2009 National U23 Mens Road Squad for the World Championships, 2007 podium finisher Brendan Schultz (Hamilton CC) , Australian U/19 representative James Langedyk (Geelong CC), Michael Gallagher (Carnegie Caulfield CC), Tim Decker (Bendigo & District CC) and Trent Stevenson (Shepparton CC) . South Australia's Will Dickeson, Russell Gill and Tristan Jones  and International riders from New Zealand's Brett Tivers and Alex McGregor which added some interstate and international flavour to the event.
Sam who rides with the Titans RACE Team (Regional Academy of Cycling Excellence) headed up by Horsham export Tim Decker based in Bendigo took out the State title event in a hotly contested sprint finish from New Zealand Rider Brett Tivers. The finish line camera confirming Sam's win  by the narrowest of margins. Sam showed true strength in trying conditions battling hard all day and his win also including four of the nine intermediate sprints on his way to taking out the title.  The win, Sam's first senior road title since returning to the sport in September 2008 follows a successful track season where Sam took out the coveted local Wimmera Wheelrace and successful rides in both the Australian and Bendigo Madison events with partner Brendan Schultz of Hamilton.

Bingo Update:


Note the attached Bingo Roster:
With the building redevelopment planned for commencement and the beginning of winter the Club made the decision the to reduce Saturday Bingo sessions to one per month. These Bingo sessions will be on the second Saturday of each month and will be noted as Super Saturday Bingos with 2 - 20 game sessions being conducted on the night.

THIS FORMAT WILL CONTINUE UNTIL THE END OF THE REDEVELOPMENT:


Clubrooms & Cycling Precinct Redevelopment:


Over the next couple of months there will be building activity around the clubrooms. A grant from the Department of Sustainability and Environment will enable the club to replace the existing glazing of the clubrooms to bring it up to the current glazing regulation. Accessibility will also be improved on the track side of the building with electric opening doors being installed along with the replacement of the concrete paving this also to conform with accessibility regulations.
Note a working bee will be called to assist removing the concrete once all necessary permits are acquired.
Once completed the club will commence extending the storage shed and replacing the damage concrete beneath the shade sail area.
All work is planned for completion late September.


Natimuk Bike Path


Horsham Cycling Club has written a letter of support for the proposed bike trail at Natimuk. The Natimuk committee has been successful in obtaining funding for stage 1 of the project and have submitted a second application to the federal bike paths funding scheme to complete the final stages of the trail project.

Ballarat Veteran Cycling Club Inc voted to resign from VVCC and merge with Ballarat Sebastapol Cycling Club which is affiliated with Cyclesport Victoria.
